Apple’s hypothetical foldable attracts real interest, but the appeal is concentrated among people who already buy at the top of the market. We tested price, use case, and product framing to learn what could broaden that demand.

Premium intent exists, but it is concentrated.

The strongest demand appears among existing premium-device owners who already value compact productivity. The wider audience understands the novelty quickly, but struggles to name a frequent situation where the second screen changes the decision.

The product needs a clearer everyday job.

Participants who could connect Duo to travel, focused work, or media use were much more willing to accept the premium. Demonstrating those situations before explaining the folding mechanism made the offer easier to understand.
