Scope a Synthetic Research Validation Pilot
Evaluate a defined research job with held-back reference answers, agreed baselines and decision-specific acceptance rules before expanding the work.

Evaluate Sapien on the research decision you plan to buy. A scoped validation pilot can compare its saved predictions and recommendation with suitable human or behavioral reference evidence, using acceptance rules agreed before the results are revealed.
The result should support a purchasing decision: accept the method for a defined use, restrict the claim, run a fresh evaluation or decline the proposal. A familiar winner on a public example is not enough when your own decision depends on the size of a gap or a specific audience.
A pilot begins with an answer worth withholding
Choose a historical study or a new reference that resembles the intended audience, offer, questions and conditions. Keep the answer tables and original recommendation with a buyer-side owner until the provider’s predictions are saved. If the reference is too uncertain to distinguish the alternatives, the pilot may be inconclusive.
Public-study replays are useful to inspect, but withholding a local file does not establish that the material was absent from model training. Deng and colleagues’ benchmark research explains why evaluation exposure needs attention. Record possible overlap and use a fresh untouched case when later development has used the first answer key.
The acceptance rule follows the business consequence
For a message shortlist, inspect the leading option and its margin, the predicted shares, rejection and important group differences. For a pricing comparison, the relevant error may be in a dollar estimate or a change in choice. A rank match and a share error are different outputs and should stay in their own units.
- The permitted input package and a named owner for the hidden reference.
- Complete alternatives, audience eligibility and the exact output to score.
- A useful simple baseline and, where relevant, the team’s competent plain-LLM approach.
- The tolerances, subgroup checks and decision reversals that would make the result unsuitable.
- A saved initial run, any agreed stability checks and a clear rule for what happens after results are revealed.
The proposal names who does each part
Our team can scope a managed simulated study with the agreed inputs and deliverables. Confirm which evaluation controls, analysis and review rounds are included. A new human reference may be supplied by your team or separately arranged; agree its design, provider, permissions, fee and schedule rather than assume it comes with every Sapien project.
Retain work and cost alongside predictive performance. The value of a managed engagement may include study design, interpretation and the report as well as its score. If the approaches receive different information or analyst effort, describe that difference when deciding what the comparison establishes.
The final memo approves a use, not a universal method
The readout should show the reference and predictions side by side, important misses and the practical recommendation. State the supported audience and task, failed conditions, remaining human work and the change that should trigger another review. Approval for shortlisting messages does not automatically extend to a new market or a sales forecast.
Our blind-pilot guide includes a copyable scorecard and answer-custody procedure. The published comparison cases help select measures and failure checks; they do not supply a predetermined pass mark for your project.
